Fern Dell Park at Griffith Park, Los Angeles, CA

Anyone who knows me knows that my very favorite place is Ferndale, CA, but this is NOT Ferndale, it is Fern Dell Park which is located in Griffith Park near Los Angeles. Fern Dell Park is a hiking trail that winds along a creek which flows from a natural spring through a canyon that leads up to the Griffith Park Observatory. The trail is about 3 miles long (one way) and is full of ferns, redwood trees, oaks, Elephant Ears, and many other interesting plants. I had planned on hiking all the way up to the observatory, but about half-way up, I was pooped, even though I am used to walking 2 miles every day. The trail had a very steep incline and I was really huffing and puffing.

Loved going there many fond memories shared with family and friends Movies and commercials have been shot there. I remember playing on the rocks crossing the creeks and water falls. The swings and pits and following the creek from one end to the other on both sides.
