The KC Slammers were invited back this year to run the model contest for the Gladstone, Missouri Chamber of Commerce at the Annual Autumn Gladfest community fair. Here are pics of the full size car show held on Sunday, October 2nd

The KC Slammers were invited by the Gladstone, MO, Chamber of Commerce to help them start up a model contest for this year's Annual GladFest Autumn Celebration. GladFest is in its 31st year.

Like any new show for the first time out, turnout was light for entries but there was lots of foot traffic through the display area. The folks in charge of the event were great to work with and plans are already underway for the Slammers to assist again in the Fall of 2011.

GladFest is a community festival with carnival rides, food vendors out the wazoo, civil war re-enactors, arts & crafts. In addition, on Sunday, there's a great car show with many great cars and this album has some of them pictured.

The Slammers hosted the model truck contest at the 12th annual Midwest All Truck Nationals in Riverside, MO. this year! After being "relocated" from EH Young Park we're normally in by the Mighty Mo, Red X took us in and the show went on!! There was a lot of eye candy both in 1:1 and scale to see all weekend!

Slammers, Jerry Mounce, Dick Zimmerman, Larry Todd, Orbie Hardister and Jerrald Braiuca set up a display at the 3rd annual Hot Rod Hullabaloo at South Park, in Lawrence, KS. Had a great day watching the car show and listening to the live Rock-A-Billy bands, despite the wind. Want to also recognize that Dick's wife Nan and Larry's wife Dianne also came to support (that and make trips to the Brit store....). Thank you ladies!

The Slammers hosted the model truck contest at the 11th annual All Truck Nationals in Riverside, MO. this year! There was a lot of eye candy both in 1:1 and scale to see all weekend! The star of the show was the Kenworth from "Smokey and the Bandit" complete with cases of Coors beer and a tribute to the late "Snowman"- Jerry Reed. The 2009 Annual Mid-America Truck Regionals were held at Riverside Park in Riverside, Missouri. The Slammers were there to supervise and run the model car show these great folks have every year. Special thanks got to KC Slammer Russ J. for all his hard work and organization in putting on this event.

The event benefits the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots Program with all donations and proceeds going directly to area children.

The show was in Kansas City and the theme was, of course, TRUCKS! The KC Slammers ran the contest and display.

The KC Slammers were invited to set up a club display at a cruise night in Merriam, KS.

9 members and three wives were there. Drew and Dan brought their full-size cars.
It was kind of hot but not too bad sittin' there in the shade and enjoying an evening sitting around and visiting with each other.

The nine of us loaded the two six-foot tables Orbie brought and we had lots of interest in the models we had on display.

Great night for the club!

The Goodguys Rod and Custom Association held their annual Car Show and Model Contest on the infield of the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas on September 1st and 2nd, 2007. The KC Slammers assisted with the model contest. Our special thanks go out to KC Slammer member Dwayne Bressem for keeping us involved with this annual event!

The KC Slammers were asked by the UPS to set up a display table at their annual United Way Fund Raiser Car Show held in Lenexa, Kansas, on Saturday, August 4, 2007. It was hot (about 100 degrees) but we had a nice shade tent provided fo us. It was our pleasure to have been a part of this worthy effort.
