Make-Up How-to's

Well since skin care & make up is what I do, I figured I'd post an album. The info inside this album is about basic techniques for application & about the proper product usage for your skin type. For example, you'll find which type of foundation is best for oily skin or which types of lipstick don't compliment mature lips.

If you have tips that you'd like to share, I'd love to post them. Don't worry, I'll be sure to give credit where credit is due.

I learned most of my make up techniques from Robert Jones' Simple Beaute book & from sister consultants along the way. But most of my experience comes from PRACTICE, trial-n-error.

I hope you're able to find something inside to bring out the best features of your beauty.

So you put concealer OVER the foundation? I always did concealer 1st. does it make a difference?
you should do whichever gives you the best coverage without making you look funny or ghost-like. i switch up the order all the time depending on what i'm trying to cover.

    The brows again.
Yes, eyebrow maintenance is very important. I tweeze. Been doing it a long time, and it's amazing how 'put together' I look when I tweeze and how wild I look when I don't.

    Pink Eyes with Pink Glasses
The tutorial was very easy. How do you feel about AA women wearing colored eyeshadow ( i.e greens & blues), and what colors go with what season. Thanks in advance
i don't claim to be a professional... but i have read professional books that suggest eye shadows based on eye color - not necessarily skin color. the suggestion was for those with blue eyes to avoid blue eyeshadow, green eyes with green shadow, grey with grey, etc. most women of color have brown eyes, but we look great with brown eyeshadow.

In my personal opinion, i think women should wear what makes them feel comfortable. i have a girlfriend in mk who has a dark complexion & her favorite eyeshadow is BRIGHT PINK!! her look is very bold, and dramatic - completely NOT my style - but she feels GREAT!!! And I'm all for whatever makes her (or any woman) feel great.

about seasonal colors...what i love about MK is that i don't have to focus on seasonal colors. they focus on colors that are current for that point in time. ex. during the holiday season 2006, golds were hot. so mk went with the trendy and put out a few trendy gold colors. but for me, i don't focus on seasonal colors (darks for the fall and light/brights for the summer). i choose to use the whatever-makes-me-feel-comfortable method 8=D

    Finished look for today.
What is all this lazy eye talk?!?!? Which one is supposed to be the lazy one? Honestly Sis, I REALLY DON'T see a lazy eye! I guess people always focus on their on faults when others may not even notice them. I think you look amazing! Beautiful make-up!

Are you applying it under the lashes? I'm sorry I really can't tell. I haven't worn liner on the lower lid in years, but when I did, I used to LOVE the dramatic look it gave me. I applied it on the rim when I did, and not under the lashes. Is this a better method?
