So, I washed my hair!!! Needless to say, I was THRILLED to have my curls return, but my hair wasn't so well-received by my co-workers and students!! I can't tell you how many times I heard people tell me that they like it better straight!!

It pisses me off that my hair is such a topic of conversation at my school!! Everyone else is allowed to do what they please, but when I change my hair, everyone feels entitled to comment!!!

So, I was sooo nervous that the flat iron might damage my hair, but thankfully, this wasn't the case!! I did see two straight strands, but that's mimimal! Just the same, I don't plan to do this again anytime soon, unless I get a "doobie". The curling iron and flat iron are now off limits for me!

How I do my hair:

1.Deep condition once a week with Hair Mayonnaise.

2. Clarify every two weeks with Nexxus clarifying shampoo.

3. Co-wash every day or every two or three days with Trader Joe Nourish. I wash my hair in the shower.

4. Detangle with Nourish conditioner using a denman brush.

5. Rinse with cold water.

6. While still in the shower, I add Cantu leave-in and IC aloe vera gel. After applying, I re-wet my hair again with the cold water. This helps eliminate "conditioner clumps" and white specks in my hair.

7. I shake my hair from side to side.

8. I don't touch my hair again with my hands. I continue to shake it from side to side to keep the curls loose.

9. I don't use any expensive products (Miss Jessie's, Kinky-Kurly) because I can get the look I want and lots of moisture with these products. I don't plan to change anytime soon. These products have worked better than ANYTHING else I've tried, and my hair is NEVER dry.
