Lakeland Bus Lines Inc. started service August 19, 1952 with five brand new Mack C-45-SDT buses numbered 101 thru 105. I tried to convey the character of the striking paint scheme of jade green above the windows and sea green below with aluminum trim and white script type lettering that was so popular with most New Jersey operators in that era. In that year Lakeland's first garage and office were located on Bassett Highway in Dover N.J. and ran hourly service from Dover, Rockaway, Denville to New York's Port Authority Bus Terminal.
About the model.... This is O scale and cast in plaster by Dave Robberts in Florida. I had to do some body work. We also replaced the original plaster wheels and added rubber tires with die-cast budd wheels..
