2009-06-07 Turtle Mountain

My first scramble in the Crowstnest area. Turtle Mountain has a tragic history. In 1903 it collapsed, burying the town of Frank under 82 million tonnes of limestone. The view of the rock slide from the ridge is amazing. Along the ridge one can see where the collapse occured. There are many fissures between the first and second summits, making it a tricky traverse with snow.
