My hair from my big chop to now(4 months after) Gotta start taking more pics

12/09/2010: I'm finally natural and I freakn love it to the max!!! I did it on Nov. 21, 2010, 5 days shy of my one year relaxer free anniversary(Thanksgiving 2010). It was a long transition but well worth it. My hair was longer than I had expected!It was really dry at first but thankfully I took the time to do Extreme Deep Conditioning, and now my hair looks so much better. To do it, you apply your deep conditioner, or ur fav. one, cover your flat iron's iron plates w/foil, and make three passes. If ur hair is longer u can do it visa versa by apply the conditioner to ur hair, then wrapping the foil around sections of hair and then making a pass w/ the flat iron. I want to try the 2nd way b/c to me it seems ur hair stays steaming for longer than when ur hairs out. But I have a twa!LOL I may be doing this once every month
My fav style is the twist out. Wash day is on the weekend and everything takes time but its well worth it.During the week I just have to pick it out and moisturize it, gel the edges,pin and go.So easy. For the twistouts I use Suave Almond&shea conditioner as a leave in, olive oil to seal and then I twist small sections.Wrap in a scarf and take out the next day w/jojoba oil.Thats all folks.
Over this winter break I will try new styles since there wont be anything else to do.Until then, happy hair journey everyone.

My last perm was on Nov.26, 2009(Thanksgiving!) As of today(Oct. 5, 2010) I am 10 months post relaxer. I currently have individual braid extensions in right now and I'm just too eager to do this big chop and get on with my life. I'm either cutting it at the end of this month or on Thankgiving, but I believe I am ready to do this!!!

Here are pictures of my transition. I was basically a beginner in haircare and learning about natural hair. Alot has changed now concerning products. I regret buying random drugstore products everyone on forums raved about instead of buying organic quality products that would work. I blew alot of money last year on products and my hair still didn't improve. I wish I knew about silicones sooner. And I wish I could be more patient!

I've been relaxed since I was 4???Or 5?? So yeah ever since I can remember! I've never been the weekly-appointment-at-the-salon-type of girl. I figured it was just a waste of money. I tried it and it didnt work for me. Everytime I would leave with an out dated, crispy hair style-I am too young for that! I really don't trust hairstylists. It's rare u find somebody who knows what they're doing.

I went months without gettn a perm as you can see. So I was stretching out my perm which resulted in breakage because I wasn't doing so correctly.
