1967 Corvette Vin # 194677S111317. Chevrolet produced 16, L89 Corvettes in 1967 and this isn’t one of them. I want everyone to be clear that I'm not trying to pass off something that isn’t real. This Corvette started life as a 327 / 300 HP , 4 speed car. Our Corvette is a 28,000 original miles car. We have the Protect-o-Plate warranty booklet and owner's manual from the original owner. The car sat in storage in North Western Pa. from 1972 to 2000 before it was sold. The original engine wasn’t protected from freezing and the block was cracked. This is why the decision was made to build a L89 Corvette out of such a nice original piece of Corvette history. The L71 427 that was used to build this car is a true 1967 JE coded block. The aluminum heads used on this engine are rare GM Winters castings. The tri-power intake and 3 holly carbs are original to the engine. The 4 speed transmission and rear are original to the car. The trim tags state this is a Goodwood green car with the dark green interior with a white convertible top. We also have the Goodwood green hardtop that matches the car. This car was restored to be a new nut and bolt restoration, but is not to NCRS standards. One of the most interesting notes about this Corvette is it was owned by noted Corvette restorer Yogi Bair. The protect-o-plate has the owner as Robert Hoffman of Linesville, PA. Mr. Bair purchased the car from Mr. Hoffman and did a complete restoration on the car in the mid 70's. This was the second Corvette Mr. Bair restored. I know it's a shame the original engine wasn't installed in such a nice Corvette. But we think the L89 is a better engine and makes this Corvette that much better! Please contact us for questions or comments about this great Corvette.
