After two successful runs at the elegant Harbour Club at the South Shore Harbour Hotel and Resort in League City, Texas, the third annual Salute to Heroes was on Thursday, July 12. The event drew crowds from all walks of life who want to honor our military past and present. A portion of the $25 entry fee and 100% of the raffle proceeds were donated to the Ray Joseph Hutchinson Fund in honor of our fallen hero.
The food, fun and fellowship is a summer event to remember with most of the money raised going to a scholarship that has helped send twelve students to college as of 2007.
Matt Wev puts on a great spread with food for all tastebuds. Roy Green and Cathy Alford are the host and hostest with the most and mostest.
Michael and Deborah Hutchinson are honored to be there to remember their son and spend most of the time visiting with the party goers. They love to hear from people who knew Ray or to tell those who never met him how great he was. The Salute to Heroes 3 event at South Shore Harbour on July 12, was filled to capacity.
“It was a most special evening. At a conservative count, more than $20,000 was raised for the Ray Joseph Hutchinson Foundation, benefiting CCISD area students,” said Ann Hacker of Black Rose Steel, sponsor and board member of the newly formed Ray Joseph Hutchinson Foundation.
