Wildlife - White tiger at Singapore Zoo - Dec 22, 2006
-
The Singapore Zoo, formerly known as the Singapore Zoological Gardens and commonly known locally as the Mandai Zoo, occupies 28 hectares (0.28 km²) of land on the margins of Upper Seletar Reservoir within Singapore's heavily forested central catchment area. The zoo was built at a cost of S$9m granted by the government of Singapore and opened on 23 June 1973. It is operated by Wildlife Reserves Singapore, who also manage the neighbouring Night Safari and the Jurong BirdPark.
From the beginning, Singapore Zoo followed the modern trend of displaying animals in naturalistic, 'open' exhibits, i.e. with hidden barriers, behind moats and shrubbery etc. It also houses the largest captive colony of orangutans in the world. - Album was created 6 years 6 months ago and modified 5 years 10 months ago

-
Subic Bay RSS Subic Bay is a bay on the west coast of the island of Luzon in the Philippines, about 100 kilometers northwest of Manila Bay. Formerly the site of a major United States Navy base, it is now the location of an industrial and commercial area known as the Subic Bay Freeport Zone under the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority.
Subic Bay is surrounded by the town of Subic and Olongapo City, both in the province of Zambales.
Subic Bay, the Philippines' first freeport, continues to be one of the country's major economic engines with more 700 investment projects, including the 4th largest shipbuilding facility in the world (Hanjin). Following its successful transformation from a military facility to a premier investment haven, Subic Bay Freeport has now reached its crossroads as it takes on the challenges of increasing global competitiveness.
