Work and activities included a kite making and flying activity with Tina, visiting the baby goats, cleanup of the downtown yards with Nick, woodcrew with Kit and Jack, and cleaning sap buckets at the sugarhouse with Marc.

Good for football, knockout basketball, sugaring, work in the greenhouse, french class with Maryse Conde, welcoming new sheep into the world, and the addition of goats at The Mountain School.

The sap is running furiously and early. While the gathering of sap has been ongoing we have recently starting boiling and have produced several quarts already. Inside the "La Maison du Sucre" students enjoy a cup of sap tea.

It's hard to believe those tiny drops from the taps filled the buckets to overflowing each day we went out to collect.

A surprise day off from school. Some of the activities of the day: Sledding, Cross-Country skiing, knitting, fort building, tea and toast in faculty homes.

Chore hosts gave directions for the first set of chores that start today. Some of those chores are captured here starting with some pictures of the parent meeting and students listening to an introduction of chores by Jack: Liana showing the chicken barn chores, Susie restocking housekeeping supplies, Rob stoking the wood furnaces, Gwynne demonstrating the feeding of hay to the sheep, Susie leading a crew to clean snow off the pond for broomball (today), Marc leading a kitchen cleanup chore, Kathy describing the inventory of the outdoor packs, and Dan supervising the construction of implements for broomball.
