2002 season at ansara

floods, droughts and storms cause these to change drastically from time to time as they bear the most damage from all three

one of the first areas I tried to plant...still not having much success...but a few pretty things have grown there

another area that started out as just another place to put the wildflowers that were crowding themselves out.

once in a blue moon, we get over a foot of rain in less than four days. This was a blue moon....and we sure did get it.

These are pics of the row at the front of my lot...right next to the parking area, so I'm afraid the cars show up in a lot of them.

this juniper once grew along the road, but as it got bigger, the winds proved too strong for it and knocked it down repeatedly....so in 93 it was moved to the center of the lot...even there it needs support. The flowers under it were planted to hide the support wires.

originally started to distract from a pumping station which was an eyesore...this little garden has become one of the most beautiful and peaceful spots at ansara

this road is a dirt road consisting mostly of sand and gravel...it is not a friendly environment for anything but the most tenacious of wildflowers, as it is also in full sunlight and exposed to salt breezes. The plants that grow here change drastically from one year to the next and are always planted by God and the birds...I am merely a caretaker.

this is the area where the gardens started with that first free pack of seeds. some of those original plants are still there, and some are new. The back side of this garden is a perfect spot for tomatoes and is usually used as a small vegetable patch.
