Juanita View Kids

I posted most of these on Facebook.com. These are all my 36 to 48 inch pals from our complex. I took these while our library bus was parked outside the office. It's a county program that allows kids the opportunity to check out material that would require them to go to the library. It's not close by!

Reunion and vacation 2009

We went down to Southern California to my 45th High School reunion and to pick up some of Marianne’s belongings from storage in Murrieta. I met many old school chums and we stayed with my high s school sweetheart who was a great hostess and driver. Hope drove us everywhere. We went to a custom car show at Ruby’s in Redondo Beach, where I met a few more old friends from high school. We also saw many of the homes the kids grew up in. We also stayed with Vickie’s sister, Ronda, and used her pool. It was great and Vickie had almost as much fun as I did. It was a fun trip and the nostalgia was abundant. Hope you enjoy these pictures!

Pictures from the Lake 2009

I took a few pictures from our days on the lake. I love the tall ship picture and was surprised at how well it turned out. Sam took the one of us and is my new avatar.

Washington Tour 2009

Vickie and I took a short four day vacation touring our lovely state. Here are a few pictures that represent our mini vacation. Some of these Vickie took most are from my camera. I really believe we give Alaska a run for their money when it comes to natural beauty.

Alaska 2009 Glacier Bay

This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. It is desolate and makes me think this may have been what earth was like before the human race arrived. In some places it is 900 feet deep and chilly even in June. This is the second time visiting here and it was even better then the first. I would love to go again!

Alaska 2009 B

Our first stop after three days on the inland passage was Juneau. The first time we did this trip we came away disapointed, this time I thought it was our best stop. We saw the some very impressive sights and I took some great pictures of what we saw. Hope you like these!

Alaska 2009 C

Here are a few more pictures from Juneau. Then we were off to Skagway, which we thought was a lot less desirable then Juneau. We took a bus to a place called Liarsville and watched a play and had some Salmon at their Salmon bake.

When you live near a big lake and your kids graduate from middle school, you go to the lake. Sam and her boyfriend, Nick, went to this year's "Boat Bash" and these are some picture I took and manipulated with Photoshop.

Christmas in January

Every year for almost the ten years Samantha has lived with us, we have been involved with a Christmas donation program sponsored mostly by the Lake Washington High School students and their parents. This year we had everything going against this program imaginable. We were hit with a serious recession the last quarter of 2008 and then a snow storm that crippled most of western Washington in December and set this on hold until January. In spite of all the circumstances it still came off. We cannot stress how much we appreciated the efforts of the Loyalty Club at LWHS and the two sponsors who worked so hard at making this happen.

Upstairs Office Remodel

We are still remodeling our humble abode. We remodeled my upstairs office which includes a treadmill that was two inches wider then the doorway. I did not want to take the thing apart instead I put in a i-bolt in one of the joists, hung the treadmill with a block and tackle to get it off the ground so the carpet could be done easier. We also discovered that a large part of the wall had some severe dry rot two days before the carpet was scheduled to be installed. This was a very unpleasant development which required removal of the rotted studs, flooring in two rooms and reinstalling studs and drywall. My crew put in the wood, and I did the dry wall in one day. Believe me, the way I work, that was a super human effort on my part. We are very happy with results and I snapped a few pictures of the work.

First boating with family 2009

I don't know if it's been to long since I was out on the boat, or just not paying attention to what I was doing. Somehow I managed to put about a half gallon of gas in our water tank. The guy at the gas place understood the situation probably better then I did. He hooked up the hose and let us fill the water tank and suggested using some dish soap to flush it out. We did this and went over to our other gas up place to fill up again with water and a gallon of bleach. It was still a fun day in spite of this and by the time we docked, all you could smell was bleach. We figure a few more flushes and it will be okay.
