This is probably the most famous tree of Belgium, bazillion times imortalized with (mostly japanese) cameras and one of the "must see" cities in western Europe. During the winter its long and thin hanging branches look bizzare miserable, indicating that the tree wouldn't make it to the next summer, but every summer again the tree surprises with the display of ample green beauty, worth to be the guardian of one of the most beautiful spots of the "Venice of the North" and making not just a few of the thousands of japanese tourists wondering, if the tree might be of plastic.
very intense colors - almost Disney-esque. I discovered another Venice of the North on my recent trip and will be putting up the pix soon. The hint is 'Little Venice' and Paddington is the stop. <g>
