i was wondering what steps you take to make your hair look like this......do you: wash then put in style while wet? do you dry your hair after washing it? i want to where my natural hair but i dont want to get sick by not drying it...... do you use any gels or just your grease? sorry im asking alot of questions.. im young curious. plz reply
I am wearing two strand twist and have worn them for over a year now, if I continue to wear this style will it continue growing for as long as I wear it?
It is long but it you want to wear a straight style it has been my expirence that ceramic irons work best . They make it liik like you just got a fresh relaxer .

Thanks for stopping by. Since I have been natural, I have not been trying to achieve a super straight style. The only purpose of this picture was to illustrate the extent of my shrinkage.
your hair looks great! It looks a great deal like mine, except my hair is a few inches longer. What products do you use to avoid frizz?
Hey, is you name really Toya? Mine too! Anyway, thanks for the compliments and thanks for checking out our site. My favorite product for frizz control when my hair was loose was Control'd Substance by Salon Selectives. It is like a gel/pomade mix, it doesn't get hard, and a little goes a long way. My real key for controlling frizzies was wrapping with a scarf! HTH! -NN
I used a salon selectives product called Control'd substance on the front of my hair, brushed it with a wet boars bristle brush, secured it with a panty hose leg (not tied, cut accrosss the leg so it forms a circle and used like a ponytail holder). After the puff was secure, I tied a scarf (the long rectangular type meant to accent clothing) around the smooth part and fluffed the puff with my fingers.
Just a couple of notes....
The pantyhose head band should NOT be tight, it does not need to be tight to create the smooth effect. The BBB and scarf create that effect.
The size of the puff depends on the length of your hair, how it is dried, and if it is picked out. This is my nearly bra strap length, air dried, finger fluffed hair.
No two puffs look exactly alike, but they are ALL beautiful!

foul language is not necessary. it is cornrowed back into a puff with a braid dangling in the front - very similar if not the same as a lot of the close up pics. thanks for stopping by. :) -kc
Please tell me how to manage my hair. It starts off in the "S" pattern and then goes straight on the ends. It is wiry so it does not press well, and perms only take some of the curl out, but my hair is still curly. What products can I use? Thanks.
Same questions as above. I think your hair is beatiful. I am thinking about growing my hair natural and I visit this site often, you are a constant encouragement.
Thank you Amanda! Natural hair is beautiful in all of its textures and styles! I will email you some tips on transitioning to natural hair. Good Luck! -NN
grrl, your hair is fierce. i have a twa right now (only been natural for 3 and a half months) but i can't wait for my hair to get longer so i can do cute stuff like this. soo many hair idols, so little time to emulate.... :)
Heheeeheee! Brit, thanks again! Enjoy your TWA while it lasts b/c in no time, you will be rockin the cornrows and puffs and dealing with the COMBOUTS!!!! LOL! Thanks for stopping by! -NN
This is a very nice hairstyle. I sometimes wear my hair this way too. I have created a herbal hair tonic and shampoo that helps control my hair and bring my hair to it's natural pH balance which makes it really nice. I braid my hair at night and undo it in the mornings to give it a nice crinkled controlled curly look.

Thanks Michelle! I would love to see pics of your hair soon! -NN
