Girl are you for real cornrowing your OWN hair? If so, I am in awe. What tips do you have, if any, for someone like me as I SUCK at braiding my own hair. HELP!!!!
Great picture. 3 months ago I cut my hair and put a texturizer in it. I was really upset because I thought it wasn't growing, but then I straighten it out one day and I was surprised to see another 1.5 inch of growth.
Thanks Demi! I just wanted to show how real shrinkage is!
Your skilz are awesome, girl! I just figured out how to realllly cornrow, and I spent all night doing my hair. This was the first time in my life ever cornrowing my whole head, and I added extensions to the ends too. It looks really nice in the front, but I've got to do the back over again, because the parts are kind of crazy. Still-- after my experience, I have a better understanding of the kind of skills you have to do to get your type of results with the cornrowing. Keep up the good work! You look great!
Faith
Thank you Faith!!! I have a little tip for your parting woes. I used to section off all of my parts prior to braiding and secure them with tiny black rubber bands. Before braiding, I would check the mirror, make necessary changes, secure with rubberbands and piece by piece, go to town!!!
I really want to know how to do cornrows. I'm white, so I don't know if it will be harder to do on me. I want to be able to do them myself, so if you have any instructions on how to do it...please email me. Thanks
Bitsy,
Check naturallynappy.com, there a detailed instructions there.
Are these two strand twists, braids, or both? I usually do this to my hair every night and the next day, I take them down for a natural curly style. I'm glad that more black women are going natural with their hair like you and me.
Hey Andrea! Isn't it great being natural???!!! I think that this style was cornrowed in the front and wet plaited in the back. Once the plaits were dried to dampness they were twisted and unraveled when completely dry. Thanks for stopping by! -NN
hi first i just wanna say that ur really good @ braiding,so ..WOW secondly i just wanted to ask you,how do you think i should braid my hair ,i mean what would look good on me,cuz i lost a lot on my hair( been braidin it my whole life) and so i got a large forehead, and wit the cornrows, from the front it looks like am bald. i can't give up the cornrows so can you answer me on my email account as fast as u can?thank u so much. and keep it up.
hey im a 13 year old gurl, i recently learned how to do cornrows but i can't do it tight enough so i have to redo it every 3-4 days. Can you give meh a couple of tips on how to do it tite enough so i can keep it in for a couple of weeks?
Your hair is beautiful!! I have been growing out my relaxed hair for the past year and now that my natural hair has grown shoulder length, I am not sure how to maintain it. It is extremely thick and very wavy like yours but has more of a curled texture to it and I can not manage to find time to blow dry it before school. I really need your help!! My mother knew nothing about black women's hair so she never did mine or taught me how to maintain it myself so unfortunately I have had to rely on beauticians my entire life and no longer have the time (busy college student). Do you have any suggestions on what products to use and how to maintain it. I'd really appreciate it if you could email me some suggestions...kutekat822@aol.com
