    Rehabilitating product junkie & REGIMENS!

These are my beloved products, I'm getting a bit better but I'm still caught up...:)

    OFFICIAL REGIMEN MAY 2008:
    1. Co-wash daily with conditioners (see below). Detangle once a week, finger comb and use denman on ends daily

    2. Leave in conditioner using this method here: http://biracialhair.org/Curly%20primer.html

    3. Add current leave-in to the bottom half of my hair in sections

    4. Add gel to the edges and a small amt. throughout.

    5. Wrap a t-shirt or microfiber towel around my hair to absorb excess liquid. Leave on till..i've finished getting ready

    6. Style (usually a puff...my daughter's into hair grabbing now...occ. wear out)

After I get out of the shower, putting in the products take 2 or 3 minutes. Leaving in the conditioner as seen in the link above takes away the need for a bunch of products or tedious application (for me).

Springtime stuff :) (and summer stuff)-2006

Well, spring is here...I've been lazy this past winter. I've still been having issues w/split ends and knots. But it's getting better. I'm still learning about natural hair and now, a year after my BC, I think i'm getting the hang of it.

    The hair HUMP...2008

Ok, i'm in a quandry about what to do with my hair. I have less and less time or motivation to deal with it. I really don't want to texturize it....I don't feel like going through the chemical aspect of it and inhaling those fumes and such again. But I gotta be honest, it's getting tempting. Like many naturals that have texlaxed or texturized recently, I just want to be able to detangle my hair in few minutes and not have to deal with matting or knots so frequently. I want to use natural products with no cones but I CAN'T because cones are the only thing that allow me to detangle my hair fully with the least stress and lost strands. So I'm gonna trim some and try some non-text. ways to solve this problem....if those don't work....well, lets just see if they do first.

**Sigh**....y'all can come along for the ride as I figure out what to do.

    Hair hump resolved???

I think i've FINALLY figured out what to do...so what happened is that while i was researching (and bought) relaxers I flat ironed my hair with sabino moisture block (pure heavy duty CONES). When it was time to wash it out, I noticed how smooth the hair was even after i drenched it with water to get ready to shampoo. Just for kicks I ran the comb through my hair and it felt great.

So I went onto the SMB site and saw that he also recommends it for a leave-in on curly hair. So after shampoo & a dc w/steam I put my reg. leave-in in then slapped the SMB on top. Everyday I spritzed and refluffed my hair and it looked pretty decent.

At the end of the week I went to do my dreaded detangle session which I tried BEFORE shampooing since i had the SMB in. To my amazement, it took me 5 minutes to detangle my WHOLE head. I mean 'run the comb from scalp to tip' detangled. I was so excited I nearly slipped and cracked something in the tub! So I repeat the process and i've been doing this for about 6 or 7 weeks now and my hair is doing great. I use a sls shampoo once a week & dc and my ends feel and look great. Since it's cold this works great for me, all I do is spritz & go...no wet head.

Detangling is a dream i never thought i would achieve without relaxing again. So screw curlygirl method (no offense to those who love it...lol) but its all cones, all the time for me!
