Fairytales in the Sand

Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf, Cinderella and the prince, Hansel and Gretel, and many others, all were ready to show themselves on Haifa's beach when the city was hit by missiles (see my Ceasefire album: http://public.fotki.com/orlyyahalom/history/ceasefire/)

Those magnificent sand sculptures, weighing many tons, all survived the war. Haifa's sand scuplture festival was reopened for the last week of the children's summer vacation.

Little Red Riding Hood in the forest

"Once upon a time there lived in a certain village a little country girl, the prettiest creature who was ever seen. Her mother was excessively fond of her; and her grandmother doted on her still more. This good woman had a little red riding hood made for her. It suited the girl so extremely well that everybody called her Little Red Riding Hood..."

    I see these kinda of things all over the world, apparently it takes a special type of sand to make the best ones....it never ceases to amaze me how they do these sculptures....and as usual...your photos are excellent....Andy :)

    Orly this makes for a beautiful slide show -really enjoyed looking at the work of amazingly clever people beautifully recorded by you!Thankyou for this trip into Fairy Tale land -I loved it!

    Hi Orly..Well dear friend we are off on another journey with this new site..I've added you, Lynn & Don as my favorites & have started to download some of my images..Will join as a Premium member by Sept 18..I'm sure lots of our other friends will be joining us in the near future..Sure enjoyed the slide show with this album.
