The Wilderness of Paran is mentioned in the Bible as a place where the Israelites have spent much of their wanderings following the Exodus.
Today the name relates to the watershed of Wadi Paran, partially in the Sinai peninsula of Egypt and partially in the Negev Desert in southern Israel. Every now and then, Wadi Paran turns into a mighty river due to its vast watershed. Most of the time, it is a very arid area, which looks the same regardless of the time of the year.
The photos were taken while hiking with the Hug Elad group ( http://hug-elad.org ) in the eastern part of the Paran Desert. The hike ended in the estuary of Wadi Paran in the Arava Desert, south of the Dead Sea.
