Montenegro is a small mountainous country in the Balkan peninsula. Much of its history is linked to that of its larger neighbor, Serbia. Since 1918, the two countries were constituents of Yugoslavia, together with Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia. In 1992, Serbia and Montenegro remained the only constituents of Yugoslavia, after the other countries have quit the federation, which led to a series of wars and atrocities. In May 2006, a referendum in Montenegro determined a separation from Serbia. In June 2006, Montenegro's independence was officially declared and recognized by the international community.

This album is about the mountains of Montenegro, mostly the Durmitor and Biograd National Parks.
