Visit to the golf course

Don't be silly! I couldn't hit one of those tiny balls with one of those sticks!! However, I'd heard that the bird life there is plentiful so I took my camera for a walk. Please join us as we dodge golf balls on this hot morning!

    Bar-tailed Godwits
Yet another excellent shot and an all round great album that has been a real pleasure to view. What golf course is it, by the way? We have played two or three in your area but the one we remember mostly is Taree, although I vaguely remember we played another one just south of The Entrance. At the time we were staying in the caravan park just over the bridge from Toukley proper.

Keeping baby quiet with some tucker I think! You must be thrilled to bits to get these photos!

    I certainly was thrilled!!!

Looks like she is dishing out some punishment here. Baby must have been naughty!
    -------------------------------------------------
How could you even think such a thing!!! Baby can do NO WRONG!!! The parents were so gentle, tolerant and attentive and were speaking so sweetly to Baby, emptying their stomach contents into the hungry beak! Such a more spoiled baby I have never seen! lol

You have got spot on focus for all this series of shots. They are really very well done indeed.
    --------------------------------------------
You are too generous Peter! I really need to learn more about the camera!

    It's a long drop Baby!
LOL. Great photo and wonderful caption!
    ----------------------------------------------------
Whenever Baby was in a precarious position, as here, there was always a parent right alongside!!

A beauty! The one in front is definitely looking straight at you as if wondering what the blazes you are playing at!!
    ---------------------------------------------------
That's one of the parents at the front and baby behind. I must have looked odd without a golf club! lol

this is nice. was she getting worried about you?
    ------------------------------------------------
Not at all. She was up high and being on the golf course, is probably used to people being around.

There were plenty of spider webs to bump into!
Great shot! Did you just spot it in time to prevent yourself from walking into it? Looks as though she has a meal waiting for her there!!
    ------------------------------------------------------------
I am getting really skilled at spotting webs! I hate walking into them!! I dislike the taste and sticky feel!! lol Also I don't like to disturb their artwork!

A VERY nice, clear, zoomed shot which captures a wonderfully aloof expression on the bird's face!

    Ducks in tree reflection
The ripples, plus the reflections, make this look almost like a painting on canvas

You did well to get this. They are usually VERY shy of people as I have found out on numerous occasions.
    -----------------------------------------
I was sneaking up on this one when ( as usual dammit!), it saw me and flew up into this tree. It was quite far away so not great quality but I liked it in the tree. It's hard to sneak up quietly when there's noisy dead leaves underfoot!!
