American Idol finalist Elliott Yamin came to Richmond on May 12, 2006, after the field was narrowed to the final three contestants. Most of these photos were taken at a lunchtime fan rally held outside the James Center. The Susan Greenbaum band performed while the crowd of over 4,000 waited for Elliott to arrive. Elliott performed one song ("Home") after Richmond Mayor L. Douglas Wilder presented him the key to the city. The last three photos are of Elliott performing the National Anthem before the Richmond RiverDogs game on Jan. 28, just before American Idol announced that Elliott made it to the final 24 on the show.
