Some of my favorite shots from the cruise, whether because I liked the subject, I liked the way the photo came out, or I was trying to show a variety of the things we saw and experienced during the cruise.

We docked in Victoria, B.C. at 6 p.m. on the last night of the cruise. Darrell and I took a 3.5 hour tour called "Enchanting Butchart Gardens." Several buses took us to Butchart, where we spent about 2 hours before bussing back to the dock, with our driver pointing out sites along the way.

We had a few hours in Ketchikan on the morning on May 23 (we had to be back on the boat by 1 p.m.). We took the Lighthouse, Eagles and Totems boat tour, which was the best tour we took during the cruise.

Only two large (100 tons or larger) cruise ships are allowed into Glacier Bay each day. We entered the bay around 6 a.m. and cruised at a leisurely rate to see the mountains and glaciers. We saw a couple of mountain goats, some seals, and some birds, but we did not see any glaciers calving while we were there.

Darrell went on a tour in Juneau to the Mendenhall Glacier and a salmon hatchery. He had a little bit of time downtown before he went back to the ship.

We spent the morning sailing to Juneau and had to wait for another NCL ship to depart before we could dock at 2 p.m. since we used the same dock, which was about one mile from town.
I went on a photography tour that took us to the site of the former Treadwell mine and the Mendenhall Glacier, and Darrell's photos of his tour to the glacier and a salmon hatchery are in a separate album.

The first full day on the ship was spent cruising Alaska's inside passage.

We boarded the Norwegian Pearl in Seattle on May 17, 2009.

Because of flight schedules, we flew into Seattle the day before the ship sailed. Our flight left Richmond at 6:50 a.m., so we were pretty tired when we arrived and didn't stray too far from our downtown hotel.
