The Bailout Racing Team was formed to promote the built in Oshawa Ontario Canada 2010 Camaro and provide employment for out of work Canadian racecar drivers. The main sponsors are the Government of Canada and the Canadian Auto Workers Union. Associate sponsors are Canadian companies Magna [a major auto parts supplier], Research in Motion [the Blackberry company] and IMAX with many other Canadian companies as subsidiary sponsors. The drivers are Paul Tracy, Patrick Carpentier and Jacques Villeneuve. The racecar started with a body-in-white Camaro shell and was modified to American LeMans Series SPEED GT regulations.
Of course all of the preceding is fictitious. The model is based on the AMT Camaro. Modifications include hood vents, front splitter, and opened up front and side vents. The side sills, rear diffuser, wing, slicks, roll-cage and other interior parts come from the Revell Corvette C5-R.

VIPER GTS COUPE – I started off wanting to build a Viper Competition Coupe but I could not decide how to replicate the rear section of the car. What I ended up with is a melding of the new roadster w with the roof and taillights of the previous coupe. The rest of the model is box stock from the excellent Revell kit. The paint scheme was inspired by the Tommy Archer SPEED GT Viper racer. I used Tamiya Mica Blue with Avery vinyl on the hood.

The Ferrari F50-GT1 was built in 1996 to take on Mercedes, Porsche and McLaren in GT racing. Even though the car showed great potential, the rumour is that the project was shelved at the insistence of Michael Schumacher that all efforts be directed towards Ferrari regaining the Formula One World Championship. Three F50-GT1’s were built, although the second two were apparently built from parts fabricated for the first car. All three still survive.
