As an 8th grade language arts teacher, Carolyn Rorie strongly believed in “putting the art back into language arts.” She incorporated painting activities and drawing pictures of literary elements in stories and novels into her curriculum. After retiring several years ago, she decided to pursue her interest in art and settled on watercolor as her medium. Carolyn has studied with Jan Kunz, Janet Rogers, and Peggy Fare. In 2007, she was awarded first place in the 23rd annual WET juried exhibit for her painting, “Autumn with Attitude.” My inspiration: To me, working in watercolor is almost as spiritual as sitting in a quiet garden on a cool spring day. http://gallery.passion4art.com/members/artnacogdoches/http://www.watercoloreasttexas.com in stories and novels into her curriculum.
