Journaling:
I got a new pair of garden gloves this year. It seems
my men always like to stretch out and ruin my gloves.
Once they force them onto their large hands, they no
longer fit snug on my hands. My gloves were meant
for my hands and conform to them just right in order
to protect them from getting blisters or gathering dirt
under the nails. I always think I need gloves, mostly
because I don’t like working so hard to get the dirt
out from under my nails. But, alas, my hands always
end up getting hot in them while gardening on sunny
days, plus I so yearn to just feel the soil in my hands,
so I shed those gloves after a short while and toss
them aside. There is just something unexplainable
about soil squishing in my hands. My gloves remind
me that God is always fitting snugly to me. He is
always there to protect me from getting blistered
feelings or gathering dirt in my life. How often do I
temporarily forget God in my every activity only to
find myself dirty and running back to Him. However,
unlike my gloves that lay tossed aside unable to
protect my already dirty hands, God is able to wash
me clean as well as snuggle me.
