What a surprise to see that picture there . It was taken in 1977 during Philippe Vorbe's jubile . That Team 's name was Estudiantes , as we were all studying in various Universities in Port au Prince at that time . We were Champion of the Petionville League and went on to the national Championship and were defeated by Aigle Noir in semi finals 1-0 , unfortunately the very week where all of us were having our year's end exams .
I knew Herve Smart back in 1977 through my cousins in Bourdon, Elsie Baptiste, Michelle Adrien. I was saddened to hear of his passing recently as I have lost touch with everyone over the years. What exactly attributed to his death and how long ago? Merci.
just to let you know that my father Roland Lacossade is located :2nd row, but at the end from left to right.Thank for showing him after 18 years since he passed away.
Mr. Lacossade is one of the best goalkeepers who ever played Soccer in and outside of our land, Haiti. Agile, witty, intimidating and always in command of his sweeper and fullbacks... I have fond memories watching this panther of a man play brilliantly for Excelsior.

Je suis tres heureux de revoir ces etoiles qui brillent et qui brulent mon coeur de nostalgie. Je vous salue, chere equipe, maitresse du ballon rond... Roland Herard jouait en deuxieme division. il possedait, lui aussi, un talent extraordinaire.C'est grace a vous, membres du Victory, que je suis encore et serai toujours "aficonado" de ce grand sport,le meiileur au monde. Apres deux ans et huit mois, je regarde cette photo comme un cadeau de Paques. Respect et merci aux dirigeants de Pikliz d'avoir mis cette photo sur l'ecran!
Perhaps the best Haitian team that ever strolled an athletic field. Legagneur, Faublas, Morin, Formose, Brea, Albi assembled a wealth of talent in the back;Ti Pierre, Ti Claude, Tabuto, Singer were the best strikers in the league.

I was a kid. However young I was, I could not miss this show of talent. Victory was alos a team "de mon quartier."

J'ose dire que le Barcelona de nos jours ont peut-etre copie les strategies du Victory...lo veloz y lo inteligente!!!! Il faut quand meme dire que Chardin et Tom Pouce de l'Aigle Noir, Ti Guy de l'Etoile haitienne, Ti Nene de Don Bosco font partie de cette constellation. J'ajouterai aussi Francillon, Ti Gerard, Vertus et Blain comme gardiens de but.
