Voila had sponsored a team from L’Athletique d’Haiti to come to Miami and play an exhibition game at the brand new Little Haiti Soccer Park and Cultural Complex grand opening, on Saturday May 3rd. L’Athletique d’Haiti was founded by former political prisoner Bobby Duval. These kids are from Cite Soleil and Bel Air and it is their first time to the US. Voila is committed to corporate social responsibility and improving the lives of young Haitians, and this is one of many programs that they fund.
The Cite Soleil soccer team played extremly well and won their match 5-1. Congratulations to Boby Duval for such a great accomplishment in Cité Soleil. Keep up the good work.
A cultural renaissance in Miami’s La Petite Haiti (Little Haiti), the most populous Haitian neighborhood outside the Caribbean nation, continues as a community complex and soccer park conceived 10 years ago come to fruition. A series of soccer games on 3 May concluded two days of inaugural events, including an art exhibition at the 15-acre site at Northeast Second Avenue and 59th Street .The Little Haiti Soccer Park offers a full-size pitch with covered grandstand, practice field and floodlights to begin compensating for the lack of open space in the zone of shops and restaurants that has been a focus for the Haitian diaspora since the late 1950s.
