    I remember that church. This is where I had my holly communion onMmay 15, 1960.

    During the service the archbishop of Port au Prince, Mgr Francois Poirier, according to my mother said this: "mes chers enfants ne rougissez pas si votre pere est un ouvrier, ne rougissez pas si votre pere est pauvre, mais rougissez si vous etes le fils d' un assassin, d' un vaudouisant, d' un menteur".

    A week later Mgr Francois Poirier was declared persona non grata and left the country by the first plane out.

    Vous auriez pu mettre sur le site les photos de l'équipe junior et surtout des coureurs de 100m, de 200m, des sauteurs.... Et vous ne m'auriez pas manqué ... Cela m'aurait fait passer à la postérité comme j'ai contribué à faire passer cette grande école à la postérité

    I looked a the church and remember going to mass on the first Friday of the month before class would start. In order to have communion, we couldn't eat before mass. After mass I would go accross the street to "Chez Renele". I would get a juice for 20 cents and a sandwich for 30 cents. That meal was the highlight of the day and it would keep me until lunch. We could have a meal for a dime. Those were the days.
