A quick visit to the grounds of Craigievar Castle on Royal Deeside Area. The roads were so bad that the car got stuck but we managed to reverse to the main road then walk for almost a mile to the castle
A short holidayof 4 night staying at the Hilton's Craigendarroch Hotel in Ballater Royal Deeside in the Scottish Highlands. During the holiday we Alan, my husband and myself visited a few Castles and did several walks. The weather during the 4 days was very very cold and wintry with snow blizzards preventing us from doing some of the things we had planned to do, but we improvised by visited the castles. A beautiful area of the country to walk in with or without the blizzards.
Wakened up to a glorious day, blue skies and glorious sunshine, crisp but even colder than the previous two day, conditions fantastic. Set off to do our third walk in three days.Starting at the boathouse at Loch Insh ( well we must have our morning coffee) we walked approximately 6 miles within the Inchriach Forrest in the Gairngorms taking in the Uath Lochans Walk. The views were absolutely stunning. For the Midweek Walkers, a walk not to be missed. This walk was shorter than the preious walks due to the fact that when we finished this walk we had to set out to drive home to East Kilbride.
Beautiful day, wakened up to fined snow had fallen overnight, but once again very cold. Our walk today took us to Granton-on-Spey where we started our walk at Granton Golf Course and finished at Nethy Bridge. Lovely walk, good paths.
Setting off today to start to Recci walks for the Midweek walking groups weekend away in February. A hard walk in the Kingussie area of the Highlands, conditions wet and very cold, poor paths in some stretches of the walk, walking till dark, not pleasent but this walk was made memorable by Myra's birthday celebrations. The walk has been ruled out for the midweek walkers. Later in the night we celebrated Myra's birthday with a visit to Neil & Terag's room for the drinks and nibbles ect, then later at the dinner table Bob & Myra were surprised when the waiters brought them a birthday cake. All good fun
On the way home from a funeral in Southampton, Alan & I popped into the Lake District and spent a few night. The weather was beautiful and the lakes stunning. Only took a few photos while in Southampton
