Day 3 Craigendarroch Hill & The Seven Bridges Walk

To-day is my birthday, lovely cards and presents, goody goody.
Alan organised the day. We started by climbing Craigendarroch Hill, on reaching the top, the views were fantastic, you could still see some snow in the tops of some of the Grampian Hills. When we came down off the hill we had lunch at a lovely little tearoom in Ballater.
After lunch we headed off to do the Seven Bridges Walk. Leaving Ballater we crossed the bridge over the River Dee then into the Pannanich Forest past Glenmuick House and out into the countryside of the Dee Valley, the views were beautiful.
We diverged from our route to visit the ruins of Knock Castle, a beautiful little Tower House standing at the top of a little hill and surrounded by trees.
We returned to our route and walked along the riverside to head for Dalhefour Wood which took us to the bridge at Polhollick Gauging Station, crossing the bridge we headed up toward the A93 then walked in the woodland beside the road and the river to head back to our hotel at Craigendarroch. To finnish off the day we had our evening meal in a supper little hotel by the bridge in Ballater , (possibly the Alexander Hotel), to food was great.
Perfect day.
