Something totally different for us. Alan and I decided to go on a train journey. We left our house at 6am to travel to Stirling where we caught the 7.30 train to Inverness the capital of the Scottish Highlands. We had a half hour stop in Inverness before our next train journey, so we walked down to the riverside and up the main street, taking pictures of the river and of Inverness Castle, we then headed back to the railway station. The next part of our journey took us on the famous Kyle of Lochalsh run, a journey with some stunning scenery, unfortunately because I was taking photos through the train window the pictures are not as good as I hoped they would be. On arrival Kyle of Lochalsh we took some pictures then headed off to walk to the Isle of Skye over the famous Skye Bridge. While crossing the bridge the views of Skye and the mainland were beautiful. We caried on walking until we came to the village of Kyleakin, here we spent about three hours walking about taking pictures of the little harbour and Castle Maol. We took the little local bus back over the bridge to Kyle of Lochalsh where we boarded the train for our journey back to Inverness, we then boarded another train to take us back to Stirling. On the journey we were able to see the days snow fall on the Gairngorm Mountains as we pulled into Aviemore Station. Our journey then continued on to Stirling where we collected our car. We then drove home and arrived in East Kilbride at 12midnight.
