David Marshall Lodge, Stronachlacher & Inversnaid
Oct 22, 2006

A lovely day, so took Mum for a trip to Aberfoyle. Had afternoon tea at the David Marshall Lodge, the autumn colours round the Lochan were beautiful and the reflections lovely and clear. We then headed off to Stonachlacher at the head of Loch Katrine then headed to Loch Lomondside to visit Inversnaid. On the way home managed to get a few nice reflective shots on Loch Chon and Loch Ard.
Good day out.

A visit to Montrose in the North East of Scotland to visit the House of Dun.
A lovely day spent with friends visiting this lovely old house.
We also visited Montrose and rekindled memories of my childhood holidays spent in the area, and of course to finish off the day with a nice meal with a wee glass of wine. A perfect end to a perfect day.

North Berwick
Jun 11, 2006

Spent part of today visiting a beautiful wee town on the Forth of Forth.
North Berwick is a particular favourite of mine, when my children were young we used to spend some of our holidays here camping and playing golf, it is in an area that has so many famous golf courses.
The Bass Rock dominates the views looking out to the Firth of Forth, it is a famous seabird colony dominated mostly by Ganets. The rock appears to be white, but only because there are so many birds on the rock, also some of the pictures have white specks on them, that is the birds.

Crookston Castle
Apr 4, 2006

A wee visit to Crookston Castle that sits on a hill in one of the housing areas of Pollock, Glasgow. Thought to be built around the 13/14th century. It was beneath a Yew tree in this garden that Lord Darnley and Mary Queen of Scots were allegedly betrothed.

A Day for Reflection
Jan 28, 2006

Nothing planned today, so went for a run in the car, our first stop after leaving East Kilbride was The Green Welly Shop on the road to Bridge of Orchy. We stopped for a late lunch. We then headed north towards Bridge of Orchy and got some lovely photos of reflections on Loch Tulla, we then headed on towards Rannoch Moor where the light was changing all the time and got some lovely reflections of the Black Mount on Lochan-nah-Achlaiser After spending a while at Rannoch Moor we headed onwards towards the Glen Etive road, by the time we reached there the sun had almost gone, but we managed to get some shots of The Buachaille Etive Mor at the gateway to Glencoe.
A lovely day out and magic scenery, it makes you glad to be alive.
