29.08.06 - 31.08.06 Strathpeffer Break

To celebrate Alans birthday we managed to book a 2 night break at Strathpeffer. During this break we travelled north via Perth, Braemar,Elgin then to Strathpeffer. We visited Dunrobin Castle in Sutherland, then drove on to visit Tongue in North Sutherland On the last day of our visit Irene & Don Garrioch of Tarbet drove GaryGS1to meet us and we were able to give him a lift to East Kilbride where he was to stay a few nights with Myra & Bob. On our journey south we took a detour and stopped to take photos at Eilean Donnan Castle, Fort Augustus, near Glencoe, we headed through Glen Coe onto Rannoch Moor, unfortunately we were unable to see any place good enough to take photos due to the area being covered with low lying cloud. We stoped for our meal at the Ardlui Hotel on the banks of Loch Lomond. We then headed on towards East Kilbride where we arrived at Myra & Bob's house at 21.30hours.
