Glen Aggart, Durisdeer to Carronbridge   RSS
Walking in the beautiful Borders Countryside on a beautiful sunny day, with a good group of friends, what more could we ask for.
Our walk started at the lovely old church at Durisdeer where the Queensberry Marbles are housed. In the graveyard is a
Martyr's Grave dating back to 1685 from the Covenanting period in Scottish history.
Our walk took us up very long paths where we had great views over the borders country, we stopped at the top of the hills to have lunch and could see Drumlanrig Castle and Morton Castle from our lunch spot.
After lunch we were able to stop into the Ruins of Morton Castle before carrying on our walk and heading downhill to Carronbridge the end of our walk. We then headed off by car to Thornhill where we had a pub meal at the Thornhill Inn, what better way to finish the day
