At last a dry day, lovely walking weather. We set off to do a recce for the St.Leonard's Rambling Club.Seven of us took part in the walks, two walks were reccied, a high and a low walk. The walks took place within the Galloway Forrest Park in South West Scotland near the town of Newton Stewart. The high walk was very varied with walking within the forrest and on the outskirts of the forrest, where we had lovely views towards the hills. It was lovely to see the amazing difference a little bit of sunshine can make to a scene. We also saw the first flowers of the year with some snowdrops and a little bit of Periwinkle as well as some Gorse in bloom, its definately warmer in January than it used to be, but I hear in the weather forcast that next week we have to have very cold weather. Ouch well then we'll just wrap up warm and head for the hills again.
