Maid of the Forth Trip

Another special day out with the Third Wednesday Walking Group.
Our special outing today took us via a bus and train journey to Dalmeny, followed by a walk to Hawks Pier on the banks of the Firth Of Forth, here we boarded the boat The Maid Of The Forth for our sail to Inshcolm Island and our visit to the lovely Inshcolm Priory on the island.
After landing on the island, our group wandered around the island taking in some of the lovely views of the Priory and views along the coast of the Firth.
We also enjoyed climbing to the top of the Priory to enjoy some of the views on the Firth. After stopping for our lunch and having another wee wander around the island, we boarded the boat again for our journey back to South Queensferry and Hawes Pier. On our sail back to the pier, we sailed a little further past the pier to take in the view of the newly opened Queensferry Crossing Bridge, we also viewd the other two famous bridges over the Firth Of Forth,The Forth Road Bridge and the world famous cantilever Forth Rail Bridge, I never get tired if seeing The Forth Bridges, the look fantastic.
After landing at the pier, we set off on our reverse trip home to East Kilbride, another very successful day out.
Thanks to Marion and Margaret for their great organising skills and for making our outings so soccessful.
