Mystery Walk (Rouken Glen Walk)

Today our monthly walk was a mystery.
We bought a rail ticket from East Kilbride to Glasgow, but we all got off the train at Giffnock Station. We then walked to a bus stop where we boarded a No 38 bus, this took us to Rouken Glen Park, we walked through the park to the Swan Lake and the Boathouse Café where we stopped for our morning break.
After our break we set off to walk round the pond and on into the park to the lovely well known waterfall. After viewing the waterfall we walked along the paths and down by the river, we then walked on and eventually reached the 13 Maiden Tree Circle, where the Druids Of Caledon celebrated the Summer Solstice during the festival of ‘Alban Hefin (‘The Light Of the Shore’), on 23rd June 2013.
After visiting the Druids Circle we continued walking through the lovely autumn forest paths and meadows until we again came to the waterfall, we walked onward to the walled garden where we had a short stop. During our stop, Marion, Margaret and Christine served the group lovely shortbread and a Rusty Nail (Whisky and Drambuie) drink, a lovely wee drink that warms your heart and your bones on a damp day.
After our break, we headed to the Rouken Glen Garden Centre for a wee look around before we headed home.

Another lovely walk, big thanks to Marion and Margaret for all their organisation and planning, also thanks to everyone for their company today.
