St Leonard's Christmas Walk
Dec 10, 2005

An overcast rainy day for our walk today, but the weather didn't matter we had lots of fun any way. When we started out we didn't know where we were headed, because the Christmas Walk is usually a mystery walk.
We found ourselves being driven north amd ended up in Perthshire, Our morning stop was the home of the famous Grouse Whisky Distillery just outside Creiff in Perthshire. After our morning break in lovely surroundings we headed off to the Glen Turret Dam where we started our walk from the Dam to Comrie a particularly lovely part of Perthshire. The mystery over we headed off on our walk, we had hardly started when we were again stopped for the first game of the day, this set the scene for the day. We had raffles, quizzes and downright silly games, but everyone took part so there were plenty of laughs.
After lunch we set off again and on the way we just happened to meet two funny men sitting by the side of the path, it was Santa and his Elf, there they were ready to give out gifts to every member of the club, again lots of laughter, kisses, hugs, and of course photos.
We headed off again on the last leg of our journey towards Comrie on reaching our destination we had 30minutes to get ourselves changed then we headed off again, this time our destination was The Royal Hotel where had a fantastic Christmas Dinner. A PERFECT DAY OUT.

Chapilhope to Dryhope (St Mary's Loch)
    Nov 26, 2005

Set off from East Kilbride on a cold wet morning to travel to the Borders, where the club had two walks planned, a low walk & a high walk. This is the photos of the high walk.
During the walk which was very wet we encountered rain, sleet, snow, ice and mud + + on the hills. We set off from Chapilhope and climbed the hill above Loch of the Lowes, making our way to the long distance route of the Southern Upland Way, we then headed to Tibbie Shiels Inn at the head of St. Mary's Loch where we stopped for lunch. After lunch we again joined the Southern Upland Way to walk towards Dryhope where we were to be met by our bus and the low walkers. On a stretch of the path, the Forestry Commission were improving the paths, unfortunately for us the work has only just started and we had to endure mud + + + en route.

    Stronachlachar to Kinlochard
    Jul 9, 2005

A wonderful walk starting at Loch Katrine (which supplies water for the city of Glasgow) and walking through wonderful open country up over the hills through areas of giant ferns and walking through wonderful woodland areas. During the walk we passed 3 Lochs, Loch Katrine, Long Chon and finished a Loch Ard.
The weather was extremely hot and at times was a bit overcast, but that didn't spoil a woonderful day out.

Walking along the shores of the Firth of Forth from Bo'ness to North Queensferry. On the way we passed Blackness Castle and several obsticles on the shore. The weather was misty to start with then cleared and we had almost perfect conditions for crossing the Forth Road Bridge
