Chapilhope to Dryhope (St Mary's Loch)

Set off from East Kilbride on a cold wet morning to travel to the Borders, where the club had two walks planned, a low walk & a high walk. This is the photos of the high walk.
During the walk which was very wet we encountered rain, sleet, snow, ice and mud + + on the hills. We set off from Chapilhope and climbed the hill above Loch of the Lowes, making our way to the long distance route of the Southern Upland Way, we then headed to Tibbie Shiels Inn at the head of St. Mary's Loch where we stopped for lunch. After lunch we again joined the Southern Upland Way to walk towards Dryhope where we were to be met by our bus and the low walkers. On a stretch of the path, the Forestry Commission were improving the paths, unfortunately for us the work has only just started and we had to endure mud + + + en route.
