An 8 mile walk climbing 1,716ft up the side of Glen Shira near Inverary.
We boarded our bus as usual at East Kilbride and travelled to Arrochar for our morning coffee break, we then headed off to Glen Shira.
When we start our walk there was light rain, but quickly the rain got heavier and stayed like this for the rest of the walk.
From the begining of our walk we started to climb the side of the glen, looking back we had views of Inverary. The conditions were very muddy, as we climbed we had to walk through four feet high ferns for most of the out going part of the walk, this made conditions difficult. Our route back to the bus was a low level walk, but again very muddy conditions.
Although the walk was diffucult because of the conditions, it was still great to be out walking in the rain.
Our day ended with a very welcome social stop, again taken in Arrochar.
