Fort William Break Day 2
Our walk today is Falls of Pattack, a 10.5 mile walk starting and finishing near Inverpattack Lodge.
Leaving the hotel at 9am , we set off to head for the second walk on our 3 day break. We drove from Fort William via Spean Bridge, taking in great views of the snow covered Nevis Range of mountains on our journey. At Spean Bridge we took the A86 Newtonmore Road this took us past the Loch Laggan Reseviour and the Laggan Dam and on past Loch Laggan, to where we would start the our walk at Inverpattack Lodge.
The walk took us past Gallovie Farm onto some frozen snow covered forest track which at times was difficult to navigate.
We walked on eventually walking beside the River Pattack and out over open moorland, this terrain continued for most of the walk and gave us some great views of the snow covered hills and the rugged terrain.
When we came off the moors we walked down through Ardverikie Forest onto the road by the side of Loch Laggan, a short distance away was Ardverikie House, ( better known to television viewers as Glenboggle in the programme Monarch of the Glen).
We carried on along the road by the loch until we passed Kinloch Laggan , then onto the end of our walk which is where we started our walk a few hours ago.
Once changed we headed to Stronlossit Inn, a lovely cosy Inn where we had our social stop, after our refreshments we headed back to our hotel at Fort William.
After our evening meal we were again very lucky to have a gentleman playing music on a piano keyboard, again this gave our group the opportunity to dance the night away.
ANOTHER GREAT DAY AND ANOTHER GREAT WALK.
