Packing up to go home today, but not before we do one last walk. Our walk today is 7.5 miles long from Faichem near Invergarry to Bridge of Oich. We have a later start today, 9.30a.m., we board our bus then head off along the A82 towards Invergarry. On the way we stop in to pay our respects at the Commando Monument near Spean Bridge, this is a very famous landmark, overlooking the Nevis Range of mountains, it commemorates the Commando's of the 45th Battalion . After our stop at the memorial we then head north past Lochs Lochy and Oich to Faichem to start our walk. Almost from the start of our walk we are met with great views of the snow covered hills of the surrounding area. We walk up through the caravan park into the woods and stay on the path that takes us out onto the moorland and onwards along the side of Loch Lundie. We carry on past the loch and eventually return to a forest and head down to the Bridge of Oich where the River Oich merges with the Caledonian Canal at Aberchalder Swing Bridge. Another good walk with great views. Once on the bus we we head south towards Fort William, we pass through Glen Coe, over Rannoch Moor, Bridge of Orchy and Tyndrum before stopping in Crainlarich for our evening meal at the Crainlarich Hotel. Lovely food and staff.Once fed we again board our bus to head home to East Kilbride and the end of our great three day break. Thanks to one and all for your company over the last three day.
