This months Midweek Walk took us to the lovely village of Crainlarich. After travelling from from East Kilbride we headed for the Crainlarich Hotel for our morning coffee stop. On starting the walk we headed under the railway bridge towards the railway station, here we passed under the railway track to cross the road and head up to join the path of the West Highland Way.
Climbing up on the WHW path we had great views over the mountains of the area, and walked with quite a few people who were walking the whole of the Way.
We followed the Way through the Ewich Forest until it crossed the A82 road, we continued on the path until we reached the bridge over the River Fillan, here we stopped for our lunch break, sitting by the side of the river surrounderd by fantastic views , we enjoyed our break.
After lunch we followed the path along the river bank until we reached Auchtertyre here we changed direction to head along the path that took us past the Strathfillan Wigwams, and headed to the ruins of St Fillan's Priory.
After a short stop to view the Priory we continued on our way along the river bank, all the time looking towards the Crainlarich Hills in the distance, we continues on this path finishing our walk at the roadway leading to Inverhaggerine on the A82 road.
Beautiful walk today, weather just right for walking, dry, warm with a light breeze, very comfortable.
Thanks to everyone for their company today.
