1950 Tula SKS-45

This is another Soviet SKS-45. This particular rifle was originally manufactured by Tula in 1950 and aside from the refurbed stock (dated 1951) it doesn't appear that this rifle was ever refurbed: it retains the original blue (as opposed to the parkerizing found on many refurbed SKS-45s), the bayo is blued (not in the white like many refurbed units), the bolt is still in the white (as opposed to the parkerized refurbs) and all of the numbers are matching (no stamps or EPs). It's seen some use (as shown by the slightly worn bolt/carrier group) and the bore is a tad grey (still a bit shiny, though, with very sharp rifling). It's the nicest unrefurbed SKS-45 I've ever seen. Of special note is what appears to be a name carved into the left side of the stock (near the other arsenal stamps). It looks as though this part of the stock was sanded down prior to being refinished and restamped (looks like the arsenal attempted to remove the "grafiti" before reissuing the rifle) and now all I can make out is "Lia?r?y" I'm not sure what the unknown letters are and I'm not familiar enough with Soviet/Russian names to hazard a guess. Caliber 7.62x39.

1953 Tula SKS-45

One fine day in 1945, the Soviet Union adopted their newest rifle design by Sergei Gavrilovich Simonov. It was officially designated the "Samozaryadnyi Karabin Sistemi Simonova Obrazets 1945", (which means Simonov's self-loading carbine system model 1945) or SKS-45 for short. This particular rifle was originally manufactured by Tula in 1953, went through a refurb process at some point, and was never fired again -- this rifle looks absolutely brand new in every sense of the term! Definitely the nicest SKS I've ever seen... that's what I bought it! Caliber 7.62x39.

Century CETME

This is the same CETME as in the other album, but I had Jayson at IGF repress the barrel (to improve bolt gap), add a new US-made muzzle brake, and then refinish the entire rifle in IGF's black Envirotech finish. I loved my CETME before, but now I just can't put if down! :)

CETME

This is one of the stamped receiver CETMEs I picked up from SOG a year or so ago. Dirt cheap ($300), beefy, and only needed minimal tweaking out of the box... definitely a great rifle for a great price.

DSA G1 FAL

The G1, a FAL variant built by Belgium's FN, was originally selected to be West Germany's first official main battle rifle. FN refused Germany's request to produce their own G1 rifles under license, thus causing the West German government to search elsewhere for their first mass-issue rifle. The Swiss StG57 (designated G2 by the Bundsewehr) was a contender for a while, though it, too, eventually lost out to the Spanidh CETME Modelo C. The CETME was refined by the West German arms designers Heckler & Koch and eventually served the West German military as the G3. This particular rifle was built by DSA, who has a well-deserved reputation for high quality rifles. Their extensive line of FAL type rifles are some of the most sought after and are highly regarded. This G1 is definitely cherry!

DSA STG-58 Carbine

This is a DSA-built STG-58 Carbine. The rifle was assembled by DSA using surplus parts and some new US made parts (barrel, receiver, furniture). The short length makes this a very handy carbine indeed! Caliber 7.62 NATO.

FN-49

This FN-49 is an Egyptian contract variant, chambered for the 8mm Mauser cartridge. The FN-49, in all its chamberings, has a reputation for high quality and craftsmanship. The later FAL rifle was directly influenced by the FN Model 49 semi-automatic rifle.

Romanian RPK

This is a Romanian RPK, imported by Century as the AES-10B (built by Cugir in Romania from surplus parts kits and with enough US made parts to make it legal for importation into the US). This is a semi-auto version of the famed Soviet squad automatic weapon. This is a brand new rifle, but it looks a bit rough on the outside -- the chain smoking Romanians never seem to be able to do a good parkerizing job on any of their military weapons. But, hey, it's all part of its charm.

Yugoslavian M70AB2

This is a recent Century built copy of the venerable Yugo M70AB2 underfolding AK-style rifle. Unlike previous Century built rifles, it actually seems like the drunk monkeys got this one right (due in no small part to the excellent DCI-made receiver). This is a great rifle and the trigger is insane -- feel very similar to the 2-stage NM trigger on my RRA Entry Tactical. Highly recommended -- get one before the panty-waste Democrats in Congress outlaw them.
