Reynolds Memorial Tribute
Jun 1, 2009

This album is for some very dear family friends of mine. Warren Reynolds was my mom's best friend growing up, he was like a brother to her. She was an only child. He went into the Coast Guards and met my dad. On one of their leaves he introduced my dad to my mom and they got married before Warren and my dad's leave was over. My dad died when I was 2 1/2 years old, and my mom never remarried. Warren got married in 1962 to Bev and they had 3 wonderful boys (Bill, Jeff, and Ken), but he was always there to help my mom out. When my sister or I would get into trouble, my mom would pack us in the car and we would find ourselves at Uncle Warrens house for a scolding. When I wanted to go to community college and my mom didnt have the money to put me through classes, Uncle Warren stepped in and put me through Community College. In my early adult years when I got a 100.00 ticket for no drivers license my Uncle Warren helped me out. When I got into a verbal fight with my boyfriend and called him one night crying and wanting to talk, he proved to me that night that he would kill for me if it came down to it, Thank god it didnt, but he was prepared. Growing up when I needed guidance he was only a phone call away. Bev and the boys where always there, but usually stayed in the background, whenever my family needed assistance. It wasnt until my adult years and more toward the end of Warrens life that I got closer to Bev. Never as close as I was to Warren, but Bev was a wonderfully warm and caring person. When Warren passed away (May 6 2001) the family made it a point to include my family and our situation with Warren in the Eulogy and it was such a heart touching and emotional moment that I had to run away from the graveside service as not to drown out the service with my sobs, Bev such the caring person that she was almost ran after me. I couldnt believe that she would have left her husbands graveside service to run after me in her time of grief, to console me, but looking back on who she was now I realize, that is the kind of wonderful person she was, and that yes she would have. One year before Warren passed I wrote him a letter and I told him that I just wanted to thank him for all the things that he had ever done for my family and me. I remember Bev called me and she was crying and she said Warren got the letter today and he really appreciated what you said and that he thinks of you as the daughter he never had. Oh I almost forgot he also gave me away on my dad's behalf at my wedding, he was so honored that I asked him, and I am even more honored that he agreed to do it.
I got a called from their youngest son this weekend and he told me that Bev passed away on April 28th. She had been fighting cancer for the last two years and she finally lost the battle. Now she can be with Warren. I still miss Warren so very much, and now with Bev's passing it feels as though the last bit of him has slipped away. I am going to miss them BOTH so very much.
Their youngest son Ken is sending me pictures so I will be adding more as I get them.

My Niece and one of her babies
Aug 15, 2007

My Niece at Sarvey Wildlife Center. The Curator of Sarvey Wildlife Center passed away on July 4th of this year(2008) after fighting a battle with cancer. It was her last request that the Workers and Volunteers keep the Center open and continue her legacy to help and mend the wildlife and return them back to the wild. With her death the center is faced with financial burdens and need to raise 400,000.00 to keep the land and keep the center open. If anyone on here feels the desire to help please go to their website. http://sarveywildlife.org/Default.aspx
You can make donations through PayPal. Thank you.
