During the Christmas holidays I decided to do some micro braids with human silky straight braiding hair. I know this was rather daring since my own hair is no where near the same texture, but I did it anyway. This is like my 3rd set of micro braids. The first set I did with synthetic hair, just to see if I could. The second set I did with wet-n-wavy hair. After wearing the braids for a few weeks, I decided that I wanted a twist style; however, I had not gotten enough wear out of the braids, so.... I created twists with the braids. After removing the micros I decided to do some two strand twists. I was actually able to pin them up into a cute little updo. My hair is growing slowly but surely.

While attending the Baltimore Hair Expo in January, I spoke with a stylist there who created a very full twistout style by adding in afro kinky hair with her clients hair, applying setting lotion, drying (under a dryer for ~45 mins) and then unravelling the hair. Now I tried to pump her for info, like the exact brand of hair she used and the setting lotion, but she wouldn't tell me specifics, so I got a notion in my head that I could try to do this same style with the twist extension hair and setting lotion I had at home. I think it turned out ok for an experiment... Let me know what you think. I will definately be revisiting this style soon....

I did these twists a little differently. I did twists in the back and flat twists in the front. I didn't really like the style once I was done, but I played around with them and got a couple of weeks of wear before I moved on to the next style.

I am really trying to stretch my styles out so that I do not manipulate my hair a whole lot. This is the last set of twists I wore prior to putting in my kinky twists. I had a lot of fun with these. I really took my time and did these a little smaller than usual, but they looked really nice and I was able to wear them in quite a few different ways.

Hey Everyone,
I know I have not gotten back to a lot of you in the comments section. I have had a lot going on these past few weeks. I will get responses to you all as quickly as I can. In the meantime I am adding a few more updates.

My first trip of the year to the beach and wouldn't you know it was too cool to actually lie out at the beach. I spent most of my time in the jacuzzi at the resort and doing other things. I was a bit disappointed. Oh well, that just means I will have to get to the beach again really soon.

Wow!! So much has happened. I have a lot of updating to do. In this album you will see the micro braids that I had done. The reason I paid to have them done rather than doing them myself was because at the time I had way too much going on. At the end of Feb. I was separated from my company due to the elimination of my position. Don't feel sad though... I was one of over 90 people and I had made my peace before it all happened. I asked the Lord to help me deal with whatever decision was made and to recognize that it was Him moving in my life and to also give me strength and wisdom to recognize where I was to go from that moment on. But I also asked that He make it very plain, because in my weakness I can overthink things and I did not want to miss out on what He had/has in store for me. So on that fateful day I gave myself a day to mope and then I decided to face my future head on with God leading the way..... So check out my new albums at
