I actually missed this race. It was the same weekend as the Bahama Bracket Nationals at Rockford which means it was mid October. If I remember right is 1998 and for their 60th anniversary they added on a season ending event and they added it pretty late. I think it was a monza with them running 3 - 60 lappers if I remember right. Hated to miss it but already had plans to go to Rockford.

Still with a Big-Block. One of his cars also had a 409 in it. Always on the pole and dove into the infield when the green fell. You could set your watch by it every time. What a hoot!

This was 1988. I went with him in the Winter to get it painted. We sent it to New Lenox where it was painted by Bob Shickie. On the way back, the tie-downs came loose and we almost lost the car on I-80. It won the 1989 Championship at Raceway driven by Joe Witkowski.
