I asked him not too long ago if He ever dreamedt one day He would be beating some of the best in the business when he was racing enduro, And He said He never dreamed it would go this far. One of the best ever out of Chicago land! Can and has won everywhere.
And you get a group of Raceway guys together and they could tell you a 100 of these stories. Raceway did what Raceway wanted, not what was fair. Hmmm....sounds like Grundy.
I started on the pole that day. Ended up finishing 3rd. Jeff Jeras in the #06 behind me finished 2nd. Two "hot dogs" from the Midwest Enduro Series showed up that day and finished 1-2. After the race there were issues with the top 2 and they were going to get DQ'd but the "staff" thought if they DQ'd them that no other MIdwest guys would show up and run with us so they gave them the 1-2 finish. When it looked like Roger was going to give me the win, Denny James wanted to DQ me because of my braided brake lines on the front of my car which he said gave me an advantage. He said he told me the year before to change them (???) even though I bought the car that winter race ready and it came with them on. With few exceptions, we never got any Midwest cars back to run with us again, and to this day I would love to shove a set of braided brake lines right up... well I'll be nice.
