Jerry was one of the good guys. He was very nice to all my kids when they went to the pit area after the races and always had a good and genuine smile for every one. A real tough competitor and never gave up till the checkered waved. Judy used to sit in front of my family and I. She to is genuinely a very nice person..I have his track championship picture on my wall in my sports room along with Ray Young..The sport really misses a good competitor like Jerry.

The Kempermans were in New Lenox prior to Jerry's passing.

He had a fast qualifying record that stood for many years before it was broken, if memory serves me..
The late great Jerry Kemperman.....this is the car that I most remember and identify Jerry Kemperman with for some reason.
It had a awesome shiny black lacquer paint job and looked really sharp when he first brought this car onto the track at Raceway many years ago during the afternoon inaugural in the early 1970's. By the end of the season it was really battle scarred as I remember.
